Award Winner - Newark Public Schools
Congratulations to the Newark Public Schools from Newark, New Jersey,
for being selected to receive the eBoards of Excellence Award for their
creative and innovative use of eBoard!
"In our district eBoards have made a difference in a variety of
ways. Every one of our 76 schools has three eBoards, a Teacher eBoard, a
Student eBoard and a Parent eBoard. In addition, eBoards have been developed
to support the State standardized tests and the District's Novel Initiative.
Also designed are eBoards used as portfolios, as virtual classrooms, as
staff development tools and as focal points for specific projects. These
eBoards have been instrumental in helping us meet our educational goals and
objectives as outlined in our District's long range plans. Shared below is
information related to our State Test eBoards."

Newark's
National Treasure eBoard

The Newark's National Treasure project was the brainchild of Rhonda
Williamson Green, technology coordinator, at Alexander Street School and
assisting her in the implementation were Kimberly Griffith of Speedway
Avenue School and Jeanette Parham of the Office of Instructional Technology.
The project was inspired by the Disney movie "National Treasure". Working
cooperatively, student treasure hunters in nine different Newark schools
embarked on an educational adventure which incorporated the social studies,
literacy, math, and science curriculum as well as involved the use of
several different technologies. eBoard was the tool that was used to manage
the entire project.
